Tell me if you can see yourself or someone you know in this: 

"I have a hard time saying how I feel to my partner because I have abandonment issues from when my parents divorced when I was 2"

AKA you know the reason you have an "issue" but thats where the convo ends.

You know you need to do the thing that's hard to do, but it's hella stressful + you end up defaulting to people pleasing, over understanding, trying to fix yourself (read: lots of extra work).

And you end up back at: overwhelmed, breaking down and saying "I have a hard time saying how I feel because..."

I was stuck here for a LONGGGGG time (even as a therapist). 

I knew all the reasons I did the things. But nothing actually changed.  

What starts off as a lightening bolt realization in the beginning of your emotional evolution around a specific issue... becomes old news and stops being helpful.  

What no one tells you is >>> 

WHY something happens is only one phase of evolving through it. 

When you understand the phases of Emotional Evolution, you can actually

✅ make progress consistently and safely

(AKA you don't have to use massive will power + overwhelm your system, which ends of creating resistance)

✅ feel at peace in the process

✅ you have clarity about what step you’re on.  

This recently came up with a client who is a talented healer and has a background as a therapist. She’s not a beginner. She had something she wanted to work on, she knew the core issue, she knew what she needed to do... but she couldn't consistently make that move and it was causing her to overthink, feel overwhelmed, pressured and turn herself into a pretzel to try and keep everyone happy. 

Because I could see where she was, I could create a bridge and bring her into the next phase of her emotional evolution around the issues she was working through.
